Wild Carp Companies Pro Staff
Sean Sauda, Tournament Director - Wild Carp Companies of Central New York
Sean has been fishing Lake Ontario and its tributaries for Salmon, Steelhead and Brown Trout for over 30 years.
He has fished on Oneida Lake for over 33 years focusing on Walleye Pike, Yellow Perch and Bass having spent the last several years targeting specimen quality Carp in the 40+lb range.
Sean operated Knee-Deep Guide Service for 5 years and spent a season as a river keeper on the Douglaston Salmon Run’s managed trout/salmon fishery located on the Salmon River in Pulaski, NY.
Sean has been focused on Carp competitively since 2007. He has competed in: Carp Tournament Series NE Regionals held in Baldwinsville, NY in 2008, 2009 and 2010, the Red Mill Inn Fall Classic 2009 and the 2010 Wild Carp Fall Shootout.
Sean fishes for Carp using every style: Noodle Rodding, Pay-Laker and Euro. Pack bait and corn as hook bait are his go to choices but he also uses boilies and artificial baits as well.
Sean puts a heavy emphasis on fishing margins and structure favoring inside seams and transition points. Sean has developed a wide array of flavor profiles under the Water Pig brand with the flagship flavor Poacher’s Blend having accounted for many trophy Carp.
Volunteerism and angler education are vital components of Sean’s angling pursuits. In 2003 Sean helped found the Arise & Fish program with fellow pro-staffer Darryl Storie.
This program provided disabled anglers accessible fishing opportunities throughout central New York. Since 2005, Sean has partnered with OCM Boces to provide local students fishing instruction on Onondaga Lake and in 2010 Sean assisted Henniger High School with a Carp specific seminar.
